Grainger County -1/2006 - Three horses in dirt lot. Fed no hay and owner lives in another city 40 minutes away.

? County - 1/2006 - Volunteer for a private individual doing horse rescue concerned the animals are not getting adequate care.

Stewart County - 1/2006 - Underweight horse.

Sevier County - 1/2006 - Owner keeps horse closed up in a 10' X 12' shed.

Sevier County: 1/2006 – House housed in 10 X 10 shed. Never let out. 

Cumberland County: 1/2006 – Horses in pasture by the road that look under fed. 

Sevier County: 1/2006 – Three horses in small pen. No shelter, no access to water. 

Grainger County: 1/2006 – Three horses not being fed hay. No pasture and dirt lot. Owner is a Knoxville police officer. 

Stewart County: 1/2006 – 13 year old mare underweight 

Roane County: 2/2006 – 2 skinny horses. 

Warren County: 2/2006 – 15 horses in bad shape. Two have died along with three dogs. One of the horses that died was a weanling that was weaned from his                                mom by being put in a stall with no food or water. 

McMinn County: 2/2006 – 20 horses living in filth at local barn.  

Alabama: 2/2006 – 10 horses not being fed or watered. Dozens of hunting dogs in small pens that are just skin and bones. 

Knox County: 2/2006 – Young colt in a pasture with 4 or 5 other horses. He has had a logging chain attached to his halter about 10’ long for the past two                          months.  

Rutherford County: 3/2006 – Local “Rescue” in court over stealing and neglecting animals 

Monroe County: 3/2006 – Horse in bad shape. Owner assured the complainant he would get a vet out. The horse died next day. 

Knox County: 3/2006 – Horse in small dry lot. 

Bedford County: 3/2006 – 8-10 horses living in garbage along with farm equipment. Piles of tires. Garbage everywhere. 

Fentress County: 3/2006 – Breeding barn with horses in bad shape and not being cared for. 

Hamilton County: 3/2006 – Two horses being feed moldy, straw like hay. Empty beer bottles scattered in the field. 

Knox County: 3/2006 – Two horses in a dirt lot. One Very skinny. 

Roane County: 3/2006 – Three horses in small lot. Pregnant mare standing in knee deep mud. Shelter is a half finished run-in with tin sticking out all over. 

Jefferson County: 4/2006 – Three horses, small area, no grass. Hay is black and moldy. 

Knox County: 5/2006 – Horse has been tied to a tree for three days with no water or shade. 

Sevier County: 5/2006 – Riding stable using thin, sick horses. 

Fentress County: 5/2006 – Pony abandoned on 100 acres by previous owners. Badly foundered. 

Blount County: 5/2006 – Horse on small lot, no water or food. Very skinny. 

McMinn County: 5/2006 – Seller of miniature donkeys not caring for. Hooves curled up. 

Monroe County: 5/2006 – Herd of horses no sight of water & being fed moldy hay. Pasture just full of buttercups. Mare with baby in very bad shape.  

West Tennessee: 5/2006 – “Rescue” working in the state claming to have “Federal” powers and intimidating equine owners and operating as vigilantes.  

McMinn County: 5/2006 – Man feeding horses dog food. Has had horses die. Told his farrier that was how he gave them protein.  

Scott County: 5/2006 – Two horses with hip bones sticking out. Nothing to eat. Horses were trying to reach leaves in the tree’s. 

Roane County: 5/2006 – Three horses being neglected. Neighbors had been caring for them the past year. Owner said he would do it, so they stopped. Now he                            isn’t caring for them again. Hooves are in bad shape. 

Carter County: 6/2006 - Horse with hip bones protruding and ribs sticking out. 

Williamson County: 6/2006 – Large horse farm with very skinny horses hidden on back pastures. Go for days without water. 

Blount County: 6/2006 – Two horses tied to a tree. Current drug allegations against owners.

Sevier County: 7/2006 – Visitor to Riding Stable appalled by the condition of horses.  Some bleeding from wounds. One had a swollen knee and still being                          used. Guide witnessed kicking a horse in the stomach. 

Hamilton County: 7/2006 - Two horses in poor condition. Very thin and not being cared for.

Fentress County: 7/2006 - Two miniatures in small pen. Tied out sometimes in the yard. No food or water. Only a coffee cup of grain a day given. 

Maury County: 7/2006 – Downed Donkey. Hind leg swollen. 

Blount County: 7/2006 – Sometimes as many as 10 horses on a small, dry lot. Becoming very under weight. 

Roane County: 7/2006 – Two horses have been getting thinner over the past three months.

Knox County: 8/2006 – Horse trader telling people they work with HHT and that the horses are rescues. They do not work with HHT.

Sevier County: 8/2006 - Several horses very thin. 

Roane County: 8/2006 – Two horses on bare lot. Boney and in bad condition. Break out to graze. 

Jefferson County: 8/2006 – Horse being neglected by owner. Ribs showing. 

Blount County: 8/2006 – Large amount of horses in a leased pasture with nothing to eat. Carcasses on the property. 

Sevier County: 8/2006 – Trainer neglecting horses. Knee deep mud, no shelter in small area. 

Roane County: 8/2006 – Four thin horses in small area. No food or water.  

Knox County: 8/2006 – 5+ horses living on a small, dirt lot. Very thin. 

Knox County: 8/2006 – Two horses in very poor shape. 

Anderson County: 8/2006 – Horses found running at large. 

Hawkins County: 8/2006 – Breeder is more of a hoarder. Puts outlandish prices on animals in poor condition.  

Roane County: 8/2006 – Horse has been getting worse over the past three months. 

Sevier County: 9/2006 – Several horses with no shelter living in a mud pit. Horses getting out and into the road. One is pure skin and bones. Owner lives in                                   her pickup because the two small trailers on the property house dogs. 

Sumner County: 9/2006 – 8 horses on a small lot. One mare gave birth and walked around for over half an hour trying to get the birth sack detached. 

Bedford County: 9/2006 – Stud and two mares in foal abandoned. 

Knox County: 9/2006 – Three horses in very poor condition. Belong to the lady who Runs a boarding facility. Doesn’t care for boarders horses and has been                                  witnessed hitting them and not getting medical attention for horses that needed it. Feeding old, moldy hay. 

Grainger County: 9/2006 – Women rescued a skinny horse and now has back up to weight, but it has barbed wire imbedded in its foot that she can’t                                 afford to care for.

Campbell County: 9/2006 – One horse very thin. No water. Living in a garbage lot. 

Smith County: 10/2006 - Three horses on Ύ acre. No shelter or trees. No hay on a regular bases. Horses keep getting out. 

Jefferson County: 10/2006 – 15 – 20 starving horses in the barn of a horse trader. Standing knee deep in manure. 

Blount County: 10/2006 -  4 horses in small round pen. No food. Realty sign on property. 

Ohio: 10/2006 – Lady left 2 horses in Ohio while she moved to Tennessee. Lady boarding the horses was supposed to deliver them down. Not able to                     contact transporter and there was no signed agreement.

Franklin County:10/2006 - 8 horses not being fed. Owner in court over abuse/neglect charges. One mare died and neighbor is feeding 3 month old colt. 

Hardin County: 10/2006 – 13 yr. old boy stole a blind horse and busted open its leg.  Shot it with a BB gun and set it on fire. 

Knox County: 11/2006 – Three horses, and one looks like a skeleton. 

Cocke County: 11/2006 – Horse in small lot with plenty of junk. Getting worse everyday. 

Scott County: 11/2006 – 10 horses living in an half acre, mud lot. Two have died in the past two days. 

Blount County: 11/2006 – Horse with bad injury corralled by the road. 

Blount County: 11/2006 – 3-4 ponies in a pen. Rotten bale of hay. Skin & Bones. 

Blount County: 11/2006 – 6 skinny horses. One has a large, untreated tumor 

Knox County: 11/2006 – Two starving horses very thin. Kept in a chain link fence in owners front yard. Dirt lot and nothing to eat. 

Robertson County: 11/2006 – Three horses starving. Don’t clean up and they have really bad feet. 

Jackson County: 11/2006 – Seven Hackney Ponies. Sever neglect.  

Union County: 11/2006 – Horses being physically abused. No shelter or pasture. Either kept tied to a tree or old tire. Gelding has swollen legs and rain rot. 

Cumberland County: 11/2006 – 10 horses used as brood mares. Skin and bones. Keep getting out. 

Kentucky: 11/2006 – Local breeder not able to care for 50+ horses. Transporter found horses starving and living in deplorable conditions. 

Campbell County: 12/2006 – Two horses tied to a tree for two weeks. No water or feed. 

Roane County: 12/2006 – Two horses, four ponies and a donkey all on less then an acre.No hay or water. 

Greene County: 12/2006 – Not providing proper care for a mustang. BLM asked us to check. 

Coffee County: 12/2006 – 12 TWH in danger of starving if not fed on a regular bases. One near death and the rest a 1-2 on the body scale. 

Grundy County: 12/2006 – Two cases of starvation. 

Cumberland County: 12/2006 – 75 -100 horses starving. One dead. No local authority help.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we try to help those who can not help themselves. Pray that our state laws will be changed to allow us the authority to pull a horse in need of help, without having to go through all the red tape. Pray that our local law enforcement will take our request seriously and try to intervene when needed. Please continue to help support us financially. A lot of man hours and gasoline go into checking out every case turned over to us to investigate. Your donations allow us to continue our fight against horse abuse & neglect.
